Every person is placed in a proper coffin for their final journey. It is included in the £950 price.

We attend in person and carry the coffin into the crematorium respectfully. We do not treat it as a simple delivery.
We collect the ashes
Following the cremation, we collect the ashes from the crematorium. Your family can then collect them from K. Dixon Funerals.

What is a direct cremation?
It is a cremation without a funeral service or family attendance at the crematorium. It gives families the freedom to remember and celebrate their loved one separately, in the way and at the time that feels right.
Is a coffin included?
Yes. We use a proper coffin, and it is included in our £950 price.
Will someone from K. Dixon attend?
Yes. We personally attend the crematorium, carry the coffin inside, bow respectfully and follow our usual professional procedures.
What happens to the ashes?
We collect the ashes from the crematorium and let your family know when they are ready. Your family can then collect them from K. Dixon Funerals.
What paperwork do we need to provide?
If the death is handled by the coroner, we liaise with their office and receive the relevant cremation paperwork directly when it is issued. Depending on the coroner’s decision, you may still need to register the death; we will explain what applies.
If the coroner is not involved, your family registers the death once advised that you can do so. Please bring or send us the envelope of paperwork you receive from the registrar.
We complete the crematorium application paperwork, explain what each form means and ask you to sign once you are comfortable with it.
Can we hold a celebration of life afterwards?
Yes. Many families choose a separate gathering, memorial or celebration of life where there is more freedom over timing, location, music and personal tributes. We can advise you on the options available and recommend celebrants who can lead the service.
What should I do when someone dies?
