A funeral notice is an announcement that someone has died. It can include a photograph, a few words about their life, the funeral date and location, and the family’s wishes for flowers or donations.
An online notice gives family and friends a link they can share by message, email or social media. It also becomes a lasting tribute, with space for memories, photographs, messages of condolence and virtual candles.
Funeral-notices.co.uk keeps notices online after the funeral, so loved ones can return on anniversaries or whenever they wish to remember.

Our free service covers the online notice arranged through us. A newspaper announcement or other paid extras are separate; we will explain any cost before you decide.
Tell us what you would like to include
Bring a favourite photograph, the details you want to share and, if you wish, the name of a charity. We can help put the words together.
Check the notice, then share the link
Once the details are agreed and the notice is published, send its link to relatives and friends. You can also find notices through our website.
Add memories and give, if you wish
Visitors can follow the options on the notice to leave a tribute or donate when a collection is open. The site may ask them to register for some features.

You may wish to invite donations instead of flowers, or alongside them. It could be a hospice that provided care, a local cause or a charity your loved one supported.
Tell us your preferred charity or charities so we can check the correct recipient. Giving is always optional, and there is no expectation to donate.

Gift Aid allows an eligible charity to reclaim 25p for each £1 of a qualifying donation, at no extra cost to the donor.

Example based on £20 qualifying for Gift Aid. Where processing fees reduce the eligible amount, the actual charity total will be lower.
When can I choose Gift Aid?
- You are donating your own money.
- You have paid, or will pay, enough UK Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax in that tax year to cover the Gift Aid on all your donations.
- The recipient and donation qualify, and you complete the Gift Aid declaration with your name and home address.
If too little tax is paid, you are responsible for the shortfall. VAT and Council Tax do not count. Tell the charity if your eligibility changes.
Gift Aid is optional. You can still donate if you are not eligible or prefer not to add it. Not every community group or collection qualifies.

Questions families ask.
Do we have to collect donations?
No. A notice can simply share the funeral details and provide a place for memories. Flowers, donations, both or neither are a personal choice.
Will the notice disappear when the collection closes?
No. Funeral Notices says the notice remains online after the collection has closed. Family and friends can continue to return to the tribute page.
Can someone donate if they cannot attend the funeral?
Yes, where an online collection is available. Send them the notice link so they can check the chosen charity and make their own donation.
Can we choose a local group rather than a registered charity?
Ask us to check the recipient and collection arrangements with the provider. Some good causes can receive funds but cannot claim Gift Aid.
