A horse-drawn procession travels at a slower pace than a motor hearse. We’ll agree a practical route and timings with the carriage provider and venue, taking distance and road conditions into account.

We’ll coordinate the procession, pallbearers and service so your family can focus on saying goodbye. Let us know about any places you would like the route to pass.

Can a horse-drawn hearse be used for a burial?
We can discuss a horse-drawn procession for a burial as well as a cremation, subject to the route, venue and carriage availability. The £4,450 package above is for cremation; we’ll prepare a separate quotation for a burial.
Can we choose a route from the family home?
Tell us where you would like the procession to start and any meaningful places you would like it to pass. We’ll check the distance, access and timings before confirming a suitable route.
Can the family travel behind the carriage?
Yes. One six-seater limousine is included in this package. We’ll explain where family vehicles should meet and how the procession will travel together. Additional limousines are £250 per car.
Can we request different horses or carriage details?
The package includes two black horses and a black hearse. If you have something different in mind, please ask. We’ll check availability with the carriage provider and confirm any price difference before booking.
What happens if the weather affects the arrangements?
We’ll discuss practical arrangements with the carriage provider. If conditions could affect the safety of the horses or procession, we’ll talk through suitable alternatives with your family.
